Health & Safety Protocols

The health & safety of our community is of the utmost importance to the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SacAsian Chamber.) We are closely monitoring local and state public health guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic and will enforce the guidelines surrounding vaccination/negative testing, masking, social distancing, etc. on the day of the event. Health and sanitation stations will be readily available throughout the event grounds and our staff/volunteers are committed to ensuring that high-touch surfaces are sanitized and cleaned consistently.

 

If you are not feeling well, have symptoms (whether mild or severe), or have been recently exposed to someone with COVID-19, we respectfully ask that you do not attend this event.

If at the time of the event, the California Department of Public Health requires proof of vaccination, proof of negative test, and masking, we will require all guests to adhere to the following:

 

  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination – People are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19: two weeks or more after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), two weeks or more after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson [J&J]/Janssen), or two weeks after receipt of another vaccine authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

 

  • Proof of negative COVID-19 test – if you haven’t been vaccinated, we require that you complete either: a PCR test within 2 days of the event OR; an antigen test within 1 day of the event.

We are committed to making this event accessible to all individuals with disabilities, and will ensure that all attendees, including those with non-obvious disabilities and/or chronic health conditions, and people of all ages and body types, are able to fully enjoy the AAPI Night Market. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the event will be accessible in all areas including but not limited to: signage, sidewalks, walkways, parking, drop-off areas, temporary ramps, assembly areas, concessions, and activities and displays. Service and support facilities such as restrooms and water stations will be wheelchair accessible.

In compliance with the ADA, service animals are welcome at the event, with exception to certain areas. Attendees with a service animal must adhere to the following requirements: 
  • All dogs must be licensed per state law, and the owner must provide event staff with the proper licensing.
  • All animals must be immunized against rabies and other diseases common to that type of animal. All vaccinations must be current. Animals must wear a rabies vaccination tag.
  • Service animals must wear an owner identification tag with the name and phone number of the owner at all times.
  • Animals must be on a leash, harness, or other type of restraint at all times.
  • The owner must be in full control of the animals at all times.
Emotional support animals are not permitted under the same guidelines as service animals. Under Title II and Title III of the ADA, a service animal means any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), an emotional support animal is any animal that provides emotional support alleviating one or more symptoms or effects of a person’s disability. Emotional support animals provide companionship, relieve loneliness, and sometimes help with depression, anxiety, and certain phobias, but do not have special training to perform tasks that assist people with disabilities. Emotional support animals are not limited to dogs.

No smoking of any kind is permitted on or near the event grounds for the duration of the event. Attendees who violate this rule will be reminded of the policy and may be asked to leave the event or go elsewhere to smoke at the organizer’s discretion.

In the event the pandemic causes us to postpone the AAPI Night Market, any tickets purchased will be transferable to the new event date. Tickets will only be eligible for refunds at face value if the event is canceled. For more details on refundability, click here.

The following items are not allowed in the event:

  • No outside food or alcoholic beverages
  • No bikes, scooters, skateboards or skates
  • No drones
  • No glass containers
  • No pets or animals, unless licensed as a service animal (read the requirements here)
  • No selfie sticks
  • No weapons of any kind
  • No recreational drugs
  • No bags prohibited by our clear bag policy (read the requirements below)

Any bags brought into the event must adhere to the following:

  • Small, handheld bags are allowed.
  • If the bag size is larger than 12” x 6” x 2″,  it must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC.
  • NO backpacks or large bags.
  • Diaper bags will be allowed, but are subject to search.
  • Guests and their belongings are subject to search prior to entry if their belongings do not adhere to the guidelines.
